Prempeh College honors Former President Kufuor, two others for contributions to school development.
The management of Prempeh College has named three facilities after Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, and former Headmaster Mr. Arthur Clarke, recognizing their significant contributions to the school’s development.
The newly constructed five-thousand capacity auditorium was named after the former President, while two dormitories were named after Dr. Prempeh and Mr. Clarke.
The naming ceremony took place during the commissioning of the auditorium, attended by the former President and Dr. Prempeh, both of whom are alumni of the school. Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nana Awuah Bedimisa, Chairman of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Prempeh College, emphasized the invaluable contributions of the three individuals.
He acknowledged their commitment to upholding standards, which has consistently made the school the top choice for students seeking quality education.
Mr. Aaron Attua Gyau, Headmaster of Prempeh College, also praised the three honorees for their respective roles in elevating the reputation of the school. He encouraged students and other stakeholders present at the ceremony to draw inspiration from their examples and contribute in their own ways to the school’s growth.
Former President Kufuor expressed his delight at the recognition of his modest contributions to the college’s development. He pledged to continue supporting his alma mater and emphasized the role Prempeh College played in shaping his life and achievements.
Dr. Opoku-Prempeh humbly acknowledged the honor, attributing his success and commitment to the education he received at the school. He reiterated his dedication to supporting Prempeh College and urged others to do the same.
